Master Database

The master database panel will show, for any position on the board:

  • Move popularity — which moves have been played most often in master games
  • Win/Draw/Loss % per move — how each candidate move has fared in practice
  • Average Elo of players who chose each move
  • Total games in the database for the position

This allows you to cross-reference your preparation with how the position has been handled by titled players.

Section titled “Recommended data source”

The recommended collection is Lumbra’s Gigabase — a freely available, regularly updated compilation of over-the-board games from professional and amateur tournaments. It covers millions of games and is updated periodically.

When the feature ships, you will be able to import any PGN collection as a local position index. The import runs in the background with a live progress bar, and requires no internet connection once the file is on your machine.
